If you’re looking to study in Australia, there are several different kinds of Australian visas available. In addition, there are various Australian visa types for different purposes: The Prospective Marriage Visa, Family and Partner Visa, Student Visa, and Transit Visa. Prospective Marriage visa
The Prospective Marriage visa is a special visa for a person intending to marry an Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident. The couple must demonstrate that they are genuinely planning to marry within nine months after obtaining their Prospective Marriage visa to be eligible for this visa. The applicant may include members of the partner’s family unit to support themselves while living in Australia. In addition, the partner must be younger than 23 years old and unable to work.
To apply for a partner visa, the applicant must be a permanent resident or an Australian citizen sponsoring the marriage. If the applicant is an Australian citizen, the spouse must be an eligible New Zealand citizen. Applicants must apply with an RMA (Representatives of Migration and Australia). The RMA will contact the Department of Immigration and Border Protection to facilitate the process. The applicant must enter Australia before the marriage ceremony.
Family and Partner visa
What are the differences between Partner and Family visas? Partner visas are issued to people in a relationship with a citizen of Australia or a Permanent Resident. For a Partner visa to be granted, the couple must have been living together for 12 months before applying. It’s important to note that a de facto partner must sponsor the partner’s application and be 18 years old.
The remaining relative visa for the family aims to reunite eligible relatives with their Australian spouse or parent. To qualify for this visa, the partner must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen. They must also be at least 18 years old and have a close relationship in Australia. The applicant can also apply for a temporary family visa if their relative needs care. A temporary partner visa is not required if the partner has been living in Australia for two years.
Student visa
The student visa is a different type of Australian visa. The requirements for this visa vary depending on your course and country of residence. You will need to demonstrate your good character and willingness to obey the ways and laws of Australia. You can show this by taking one of several English proficiency tests. Other requirements may include having police or military clearance or a Character Statutory Declaration Form. If you plan to study in Australia, you must have sufficient finances to pay for your course expenses. Generally, you must provide proof of sufficient funds, such as bank statements.
Transit visa
There are several different types of Australian transit visas. You can apply online for a transit visa. You must provide a notarized copy of your passport, a travel itinerary, a flight ticket, and a visa to your final destination. A recent digital passport-sized photo is also required. Non-English documents must be translated into English and notarized. Your onward flight booking must also be confirmed.
A Maritime Crew visa is required for the Australia transit visa. This visa allows you to enter Australia’s airport and stay for up to 72 hours. You will need to provide a confirmed booking and proof of permission for your final destination to be accepted. Frequent travelers prefer this visa as it is convenient and allows multiple entries. However, if you’re only going to be in Australia for a few days, an ETA may be better for you.
